Forum Stalkers from South Carolina

Beth & Larry here in Mt. Pleasant (across the bridge from Charleston). We are anxiously awaiting our 21' due May 14th. The build sheet deadline is quickly approaching. We have included a solar panel and inverter in our build. Still undecided about the transfer switch to all versus single. Also the need for an exterior 12 volt outlet. Any opinions or advice welcome. Thanks

If you plan to be able to use more than one outlet when boondocking, then the transfer switch to all outlets makes sense. I don't really see the need for us, but we went with it anyway. The exterior 12v is handy for several things, so we added it as well.

The 120V exterior outlet is standard- the 12V is optional. We did the transfer switch but not the exterior 12V. Would recommend the transfer switch as it is very difficult to do later. We use various AC outlets and with the inverter you can use the exterior A.C. outlet. But for $50 an exterior 12V is inexpensive if you think you might need it.

I added an exterior 12V at the rear awning mount so I could use a 12V air compressor and wifey could plug in awning lights if desired. Also had the 110V moved next to it for same reason.

We use the 12v outside for an Endless Breeze fan when it gets buggy. Works well as long as you have an extension cord for it.
