Hello from Houston

Having just joined the Escape forum, my first post was about my plans to build a "dog house" under the bed in a 21' Escape that we have on order for delivery in February of 2016. We have an Australian Shepherd puppy that has gone on a couple of trips with us and shared our 17' Casita SD. Thanks to everyone for your feedback and suggestions. Not sure what is protocol for the forum but starting to learn my way around.

I'm sure its quite common to have all kinds of questions about what options to choose. Anderson vs. Hensley hitch; solar energy vs. generator, etc.? There appears to be a wealth of info and experience available on this site and I believe most of my questions have already been answered somewhere in the forums if I'm just able to find it.

I am 61 years old and took up playing pool when I retired about 5 years ago due to "burn out" from my career as a tax attorney and CPA. I rode Harleys for years and have finally decided I can live without one. My wife is from China and has lived in the USA for almost 20 years. We have made several international trips to "see the world" since we were married about 3 years ago. We bought the Escape because there's so much that neither of us have seen here in the USA. We are starting to plan a 3 month trip that will begin with us driving our Toyota Tundra from Houston to pick up the new trailer at ETI in 2016.

We recently attended the Fiberglass RV Rally in New Braunfels, TX and look forward to similar activities. Met lots of really nice folks. We only bought our 2006 Casita about a month ago. Wanted to try it out while we waited for the Escape to be built. We are committed and sent in a large payment last week to capture the currently favorable CAD to USD rates.

Hope to meet some of you as we travel along the road of Happy Destiny.

Wellcome to the Escape community Kenny & Lia. Congratulations on your 21. We pickup our 19 in late July and plan to move to Waxahachie TX next year to be closer to the kids. Hope we cross paths in the future.
Stay safe with all the flooding going on in Houston!

Welcome to the Escape Family! We are in the Houston area as well (actually Coldspring/Cape Royale). Our Escape 19 will be completed 7/16 and we are making the drive in early August for a 8/13 orientation and a three week leisurely drive back to Texas.

Hello and welcome to the Forum Kenny and Lia. We're Robert and Yolanda from San Antonio. We thought we might have met you at the rally, but we were at the Bandera Rally in April, not New Braunfels. Congrats on your 21! It's going to be night and day compared to what you have now.

Hi Kenny,
Steve here, we showed you our 19' at the Guadalupe Rally. Glad to see you placed your order. Good luck with the process.
