Hello from Rhode Island

Hi all -

My name is Bryan. I am from RI. I am looking at purchasing my first travel trailer. I am very impressed with the Escape offerings, especially the 5.0 TA. I live with my wife, Yooja, and six year old son, Logan. We love camping. We tent camped about 25 days last year. I am looking for a travel trailer in the hopes we can travel further with it. Perhaps we could even do a multi-week tour of the US with my wife and son. I am in the software business and usually work at home. I think I can do this while still working out of the trailer. Anyway, I am looking forward to meeting all of you and learning about the rv lifestyle.

Greetings, Bryan,
You can probably see an Escape in your general area by calling or writing Escape Trailer Industries if you do not hear from someone on the forum. There are a few people in your line working out of their trailers so no doubt you could. Any questions you have on Escapes, we can answer.

Welcome Bryan,

I've got a TA, if you want to look one over drop me a PM, just west of Springfield MA. There's also an SA right near you, you can see if they are still accepting visitors from ETI and get contact info.

Come to think of it, I'll be at Fisherman's in Point Judith early June for a few nights and West Thompson Lake CT the last weekend of May.

Thank you for the very gracious offer. I am going to the RV show in RI Convention Center this weekend. I would love to see it after that. Either date would be fine. My neighbor loves West Thompson Lake. I've been meaning to get over there anyway. I will speak to my wife about a weekend camp trip there. Please let me know when you are planning to be there. We will see if we can set up a camp-out at the same time. Again, thanks for your generosity.

I am re-thinking the 5.0 TA. I am planning on purchasing a Ford F150 Platinum, a crew cab, for my TV. That truck, with options, will have a payload of about 1450#. The ~700# tongue weight of the TA when loaded for camping will really cut into the available payload for passengers and gear. Plus I am not sure I want to go with the 6.5' bed option as this will be my daily driver. I originally considered the TA because I hear the fifth wheel towing is much easier than bumper towing. But I can manage bumper towing with no problem. The 19' is at the top of the list now. I think the floor plan will work for my family.

I love my 5.0TA. But every time I step inside Dave&Kathie's 21', my heart hummms. Nice, nice, trailer. That model would be my second choice over all others. YMMV

Bryan,
I had several members come down from northern north east to look at my then only 19' and 21' Escape this side of the Mississippi closest to them. Since then there are several new owners, some nearby. Contact Escape and they will put you in touch with a 19 or 21 Escape. Welcome...

I just sent an email to ETI requesting contact info for nearby owners willing to show their trailer. Thanks to all for the help.

The 21 is much the same as the 5TA from the entry door to the rear, although with the bath to the forward side.

Bryan,
We're about an hour from Warwick in eastern CT with a 21. Contact ETI and they'll provide the contact info.

Bryan,
We have a 2013 5.0 single axle in Tiverton. Lynne and I will be happy to show off our trailer and share our experience with Escape. We're heading to South Carolina next weekend but send me a PM and I'll contact you.
