Hello from the D.C. Area

We hope to become Escape 19' owners in the not-too-distant future. We were long-time Casita 17' owners before we moved to this part of the U.S. and are so pleased to find the Escape trailer community. I've now read every one of the 52 pages of Modifications and Alterations and am full of happy ideas.

We have not yet succeeded in getting a referral to view an Escape 19'. Is there is anyone in our general area (within a 2 to 3 hour drive of Washington D.C.) who would be willing to show us theirs?

If this is not the right place to post this request, do please let me know.

Thank you!

Welcome Elisabeth. If you haven't already done so, contact Escape. They will provide you with the contact information for the nearest owner in your part of the country who is willing to show you their rig.

I did, and they did, but they got the area code wrong when they gave me the telephone number! I have just tried a different area code (our local one) and I am hoping that the person whose voicemail I reached is the Escape owner! As his name is the same as the name I was given, I am reasonably confident that I will soon see an actual Escape 19. I am full of anticipation!

Thank you for responding,
Elisabeth

Sounds like you got the right person. Hopefully you get to meet up with them and see one in person soon.

As for the 19, we love ours, but see if you can look at some other models as well. We toured a 17, a 19 and a 21 before deciding. Having seen them all in person, it became very obvious to us which one was the best fit.

I'm in York, Pa with a new Escape 19, so if your other person is not responsive, contact me. I'm about 2 hours north of you.

THANK YOU! to cpaharley in York PA, who spent almost 2 hours with me yesterday showing me his 19' Escape "Prairie Schooner". It's a beautiful unit, with useful mods. Seeing it confirmed my belief that we have made the right choice. And his advice on a number of issues has led me to reconsider and in some cases change some decisions we had made regarding options (particularly the awning!).

Cpaharley bore with me, my tapemeasure, and my many questions with patience and great good humour. And it's lovely to be able to see him in my mind when I read his posts on this forum.

Thanks!

Anyone interested in a 19' may want to also see a 21' as they are two very different trailers.

Ive seen him, he ain't that pretty. But he has good taste in trailers and dogs. Regarding owning both: So have we, and both trailers have a lot of positives.
