HI from new member Therese

Hello all,

I live in Soquel, Santa Cruz County, Ca. in the rural redwood forest. I'm learning so much in the various posts and build pictures.....its great! I'm actively looking for a used 19' and if none available, soon will put my deposit down. Anybody out there in the San Francisco Bay Area or Santa Cruz?
Therese

Hello from a fellow Santa Cruzian (well, San Lorenzo Valley .... ). Welcome to the Escape forum and, hopefully, soon the Escape family. Darn, we just sold our 19' earlier this this year as we're picking up a 21' in a few weeks or it would have been perfect for you. Oh well, getting a new one isn't all that bad -- you get to 'customize' it if you want.

Hope to see you at one of the campgrounds or rallies. There are a number of rallies in and around California.

Heck, there are enough Escapes in and around Santa Cruz these days we could have our own rally!

Howdy Neighbor,
I'm just a couple thousand miles up the road from you … Welcome to the Forum! There is no such thing as distance when you belong to this forum and have an Escape. Come on up …. I'll make you a killer cup of coffee.

I was thinking the same thing-a local rally would be fun as long as you include people from the East Bay! Mt. Madonna is another option.

I think the challenge in the bay area is finding a campground that isn't going to be book solid the instant it become available to book

we've always try to spot one in the area when we go out.. but so far I've only spotted Steve's 21 in the storage lot...(and his has since been moved) never seen a moving one... you'd think it's easy to spot one since traffic is so bad here...

Yes, much to our chagrin, our inexpensive and close facility (1 mile away) closed for sale and redevelopment . More high density housing, more people, more traffic and less water. We had to move our storage 17 miles away as only waiting lists exist anywhere closer.....

Place looking for add

Hello,
Welcome to the site and hope you find your home on wheels soon. We are newer members to the site as well and just purchased a 2014 21' Escape that found us on this site.

There is a area in this that you can place a looking for ad and I would suggest you do that. Some people would rather sell that way and also from my experience if you don;t act quickly on one when it is listed you're probably to late.
We were lucky because here in the SE there are not many Escapes and ours found us on this site.
All the best.
Steve and Patty

Welcome Therese!

I'll throw out this suggestion for your rally site--Laguna Seca Raceway. We camped there for about ten days last September, visiting our daughter and family in Monterey. Tons of space, mostly empty while we were there.

I thought I just posted but it seems to have disappeared into the ether. Welcome from up the hill (east of Sacramento)

I’m currently on a cross country trek but I’d enjoy getting together November or later.

Lake Solano (a solano county park) is on Putah Creek, the OUtflow of Lake Berryessa. Outside of summer (when it’s too hot there anyway) there are rarely 10 of the 80 sites occupied. They give a senior discount.

It’s a bit west of Davis and Winters, maybe 2 hrs from Santa Cruz. Kayaking is nice on the lake, and many birds overwinter there. I see cyclists on the back roads. The Palms Playhouse in Winters has live music of various genres and there are a couple of good restaurants.

Hi Therese, It’s good to see you here and the interest you stirred up for a gathering of locals+. You are one step closer to being a Proud Escape Owner.

We’d love to get together with you and other folks. We are in the Santa Cruz Mountains between Los Gatos and Santa Cruz. There have been a lot of good suggestions on where to go.
