Dave arrived last evening, drove past the shopping center where we were waiting, but we all managed to connect in a mall lot a few blocks past where we were waiting. It took a while to get her wheels on the ground and it was way late by the time we got her home! She is beautiful! I have a busy day today - getting her registered (hopefully), packing, and a 7-8 hour drive north!

Congrats, hoping your registration is fine, do not forget to plug in the refer on 120 to cool down before putting in chilled contents. Good luck on the event in NY, hoping to meet you on the road someday.

Jim,
I don't have the correct cord adapter to plug her in at home.... :-( I figured that out at 11pm last night, two hours past my bedtime. Will get one today and probably keep food in cooler until we get to camp. I need propane too. I am sure we will meet soon! At the eastern escape rally!

Certificate of origin does not have 9 safety features as required by NAFTA.

What? I feel for you. Every state has & city it seems has so much stuff they want. It took us almost a month after we picked up to do & get everything Houston, Tx. wanted. We drove back from Tx from Canada with no tags. Then went step by step when we returned. We finally got someone to list everything on paper that we needed. I say hook up and get going to New York. Have paperwork handy, say you just took delivery and smile. That Canadian leaf goes a long way in the states! We didn't get stopped once and we even had a border crossing coming into Tx. Have a good weekend and win a medal in your triathlon! Deal with it next week!

I am sorry to hear you are having so many issues getting the trailer registered. you might call Escape and ask them to fax another certificate of origin to you with the proper safety features listed. Or you might try another DMV office, maybe with someone who is quite as persnickety.

I hope your state has a grace period for registration. I never thought to get registration before I went to Canada to pick up mine. I drove for days getting back home without anything but papers in the car. I was never stopped, and CHP here is pretty watchful regarding vehicle registration as that is where (at least then) they get their funding. Since you are in time crunch, you may wish to deal with this when you get back. Good luck and congratulations.

I'm so very sorry about the registering problems! I walked into the Oregon DMV with all the paperwork ETI sent and walked out exactly 11 minutes later with a title, registration and license plate. And I thought Oregon was bad (and can be extremely picky about some things).

Can you get a temp?

Kris, this has happened to a couple other members here. Contact ETI, Tammy has the special paper with the security settings. Meanwhile I'd just take the trailer on up to NEW York without tags and use it, if stopped, explain you are enroute home after picking it up in Canada. That is what others have done. Call me if you need any bail money….. good luck.

Jim,
I honestly looked for your number in my phone as I was in the MVA near tears. Now on phone trying to get help. They are talking about "grey market" vehicles. This is insane!

you must be dealing with a idiot on the other side of the counter. it also took me about ten minutes to get my plates. I would ask for the manager.

I'm not so sure telling a false story to the police if stopped is such a good idea. How does insurance deal with un-registered trailers? However it is nice that cpacharley2008 is willing to fork over bail money if his advise doesn't work.

It is insured. I did talk with supervisor today, it didn't help. Now waiting for callback from MVA HQ. website does allow for some exceptions, so I am pushing for that option. I would prefer to have plates before I go.
