Just ordered our 21

Hi, we are Lisa and Pete and live in a northwest suburb of Chicago. We are completely new to trailers, camping, everything, but have always dreamed of getting one and going on the road We've been lurking on the forum for awhile and just put in our order for a 21'. Reading threads in this forum has become a new daily hobby for us :-) We want to thank everyone for the wealth of information found here, and are so excited to learn more and start our new adventure next August!

Welcome to this forum. I found it so helpful when we did our build sheet and later mods. I'm sure you will too!

Good for you two! You will not be disappointed. Lots of folks here to answer questions.

Trailers were all new to us when we bought our first Escape. Great choice!

Hello Schaumburg! I grew up there in the 50s. Certain you'll love the 21; you're skipping over the learning curve on the smaller ones.......

Hi Lisa and Pete. We also knew exactly zero about trailers and camping but ended up with an almost perfect rig thanks to this forum. And a lot of the old pros around here do know what they are talking about. But I will admit it was a big sigh of relief after the build sheet went in. Loren

HI Lisa and Pete. Great to know that another 21 is coming to the Chicago area. We went to the Decatur area to see one before ordering. We as a family have always tent camped but now is the time to move on. I believe you won't regret the decision to get an Escape. Bon Vaoyage

It's only about 125 miles from Schaumburg to Thompson Illinois, Thompson Causeway campground COE. It would be worth your time to drive over to the Mississippi River Rendezvous rally the last weekend in September if you don't have other plans. There will be several Escapes there and some veteran ( in Eric's case, real veteran) campers there. Hope you can come. With $2.00 gasoline you can't afford not to. Easy day trip, stay for the potluck on Satuday evening. I'll have a cold one waiting.

Jim, Sorry I was not clear on the dates. The way the Calendar falls, Friday is September 30, Sat and Sunday are Oct 1 and 2, 2016. I will have the Jim Norman Sherline Scale along with me in case anyone wants to check their tongue weight. I plan to return it to its rightful owner along with the Jalapeño Spam rental fee when I see him again. .
