Looking before buying

Hello from West Texas where trailers are plenty for oil field work, not so many Escape brand. It`s all about size around here - the bigger, the better. That`s not us. I joined forum to find folks near home with 5.0 who are willing to share info about where we can see one. We`re new to RV life. Planning retirement end of August. No long trips until then. Love quality shown in Escape and care with construction. Seeing one in person would be great. Suggestions?I

How did you decide to buy?

Welcome Oneita, to out little world. Please contact the factory and they will put you touch with an owner near you to show you an Escape. Then the fun begins.....

To answer you question of how we decided to buy...

We have had a few regular trailers lately and a fiberglass Boler many years ago. We were lucky in that our trailers had not started to leak before we moved onto the next. This time we wanted something that we felt would last and that we could pass onto our daughter in years to come...instead of a pile of rotting wood. Escape industries happens to be a few hours away and I like the direct sales with my money going towards product and not dealers.

If you happen to be near Big Bend NP after August 1, come to the Chisos Basin CG and visit our '21. We're the host and hard to miss.

We bought a small stick and tin fifth wheel in 1999 similar in size and floorplan to the 5.0TA, and traveled extensively in it for 15 years until it finally died of wood rot from repeated multiple roof leaks. There haven't been any small stick and tin fifth wheels manufactured for many years now, when we found Escape and discovered the 5.0TA it was like we could hear the angels singing. The more we learned the more we knew it was exactly what we were looking for.

Since we had many years in a very similar fifth wheel, we knew that it would work very well for us. ETI put us in touch with a 5.0TA owner in Austin and when we saw one in person that sealed the deal. We actually drove up to Chilliwack in September to go over some details, make a few decisions, ask about a few customizations, and finalize our build sheet. Our trailer was completed in December and has been sitting there ready to pick up as we wait for the snow in the mountain passes between here and there to clear out - our orientation date is April 12, and the next month will be very long indeed as we count down the days!
