Perhaps the gas oven option with a microwave would give one almost the same results as a convection/microwave. We've found our convection oven tends to dry things out a lot (but not as bad as nuking bread in a microwave!).

Thanks for all input on microwave convection ovens. We are considering a new trailer and this feature is very important to us.

Looking for convection microwave for our new 19'

I got the measurements as 18-3/4" w x 12"h x 12" deep. Anyone know where to find one that will fit?

This topic has been discussed above and at length on the forum. Convection ovens put out heat. They can be used on a countertop but should not be installed in the recesses provided for a standard microwave in an Escape.

The option I have chosen is: regular microwave from ETI plus several companies make small table top combination convection oven/toaster/broiler. (cuisinart at costco). Since all of them require 120v, it can be used on a small table outside when plugged into shore power.

We just ordered an Escape 21 and were discussing with Tina the installation of a convection microwave oven. We have one in our Winnebago Navion and absolutely love it! We cook on an induction cooktop and bake in our convection oven so we won't have the gas stove, oven, or range hood.

Tina suggested installing it where the normal oven would go. Ours is a High Pointe and it has vents top and bottom. It gets as hot as a regular oven but it's very fast and cooks quickly. We use the overhead fan exhaust while it's on.

I'll let you know what the service guys say.

It's not the same brand, but Dave (H46Driver here on the forum) had a convection microwave installed in his 21. It looks very nice. Here's the thread on it:

Convection Microwave Fits!

We love ours. Reace made the cabinet to the exact specs required for clearances and heat is NOT an issue at all. I've checked it with a temp gun by removing the adjacent drawers and shooting all around it - negligible increases in temps. Would definitely recommend putting one in and we would do it again and again. Baking while dry camping can be done in the Weber Q so for us there is no sacrifice in giving up the propane oven for the convection microwave. Bakes the best cookies and brownies you'll ever experience while camping!
