More Newbies

Going to look at a 19 tomorrow. If we love it as much as we think we will plan on making our deposit. After researching for about 6 months this seems like the one we will be happy with.

We are new to camping (I have been trying to talk him into it for 20 years, finally wore him down) so will be frequent visitors here for advice.

Way to go Caren. Wearing down the stubborn husband is what wives are for!

We pick up our 19 in about 6 weeks -- and I'll bore anyone to tears bragging about it

Larry and Caren,
My wife and I never camped a day in our life and certainly never did anything with a trailer. We bought the 19 a year and a half ago and have never been sorry. We took a few short trips to test it out and see if we knew how to work things and then took a two week trip to San Diego. The 19 is everything he had hoped for and more. We love it. While we are still learning, it is the best decision we have made as I work towards my retirement.

Good luck and stay true to what you want. The 19 is perfect for two people and we hope to see you at one of the future Escape Rally's.

Seriously, dood! Turn in your man card. Husbands are never supposed to openly admit this.

'tis true, but I saw it more as wishful (hopeful) thinking, than whining.

We ordered a 19, have to wait until October unfortunately. Having fun going over the options, it's to far out to stress about yet.

I suggest you work sooner rather than later on the options list. We got a cancellation slot so we accelerated our order from September to May, so we had to set up the build list sooner than we expected, but are glad to get a trailer at the beginning of summer rather than the end.

That's good. As they say, "ask and ye shall receive."

I'm glad to read that I'm not the only one that changed their mind.
"Yes I want this" next day "what was I thinking"?
But I do believe my build sheet is now complete I'm just hanging on to it for a week or 2 (I have until July 2) just in case.
But I'm really happy with what I have ordered.

Congratulations you guys are going to have so much fun.

Changing my mind every other day is part of the fun, I guess. Pestering Crystal et al with my questions is also part of the fun. Now if I can just get my condo sold, I'll be another free spirit... The build deadline approacheth.

Are you planning on becoming a full timer?

Yes, I'm planning to become an itinerant. (I was thinking of naming my 5.0 "Bird of Passage", but my brother thought I was talking about Passenger Pigeons, and he said "They're extinct!" )

We're all in the same boat. I sent Crystal another set of questions, today.
As a Post Script, I asked how many of these "just a few more questions" e-mails does she get a day? Her answer:
Many! We average about 50 emails a day and I deal almost exclusively with customers who are “in” the build process.

I always call ETI when I have a question or want to add an option to my build sheet and I have found all the ladies helping me to be very helpful, pleasant and profesional.

Yes, a larger faq section would help although most of the questions I've had have been answered by reeding this forum. I apreciate all the great advice from knowledgeable escape owners.
