Smile New 21 ft Escape

Hi everyone!! My name is Jim. My better half is named Gillian and we just purchased a 2015 21ft Escape. Actually, we are on our way to Chilliwack this Wednesday to pick it up. Little late in the season for doing any travelling but we are very excited and looking forward to the coming season.
We are avid campers but this is our first trailer. We are hoping to meet some of you on our journeys. Love to browse the forums for concerns, advice and great places to visit. Cheers.

NO! I'm heading out this next week and probably will go again in November but then hang it up until February, and then March, and then April. Love this time of year for camping!

Welcome, Jim and Gillian...

Congrats, Jim. And Howdy! We've had ours now for two weeks. Since Sept. 25 (I think that works out to be two weeks). We're still on our voyage home - arriving tomorrow. Honestly, we were a little put off at first by all the "wasted space," but it is actually VERY comfortable and the coziness of our beloved Casita is becoming a distant memory. And I don't miss the tight galley quarters of the Casita at all (LOVE my kitchen in the Escape), and my husband is pleased by the extra space in the bathroom... It's ALL GOOD!!

Enjoy your pickup - Here's hoping you have decent weather, at least. (Come on down to Texas, where it's still summer: we're probably going to get to check out our air conditioner tonite! It's the beginning of the good camping season here...)

Congrats on your 21

Well, we've had ours since March and love it. Had to exercise our AC this weekend in Angels Camp in 49er (the Gold, not Football) country as it was 90 degrees (not normal this time of year). It was loud but very cool!!
Anyway, welcome! We, too, had a Casita 17, (loved it) but really love the size of our Escape 21!
Pop open a good bottle of red, some fine cheese and crackers and just stare at it!

Hi Jim! Congrats on your new purchase.

My wife and I full time in the 17' Casita SD, and are considering one of these 21' models.

How long did it take between the time you ordered it to time of delivery?

What must-have options did you get?

Regards,

Full-Time Fred

Hi Mary F,

I am curious to find out where you considered the wasted space to be? Trying to gather as much info as possible.

Regards,

Full-Time Fred

We went from a 17LD Casita to a 21 and absolutely LOVE the space - it's wide enough that two can pass each other in the aisle and still not step on the dogs. Permanent bed is wonderful as the head is raised 4 inches compared to the foot. While there is a HUGE amount of storage, if you throw in 3 small dogs and the 2 grandkids, the added storage is most welcome. The 21 is also 6 inches wider than the 19 so the cabinets are also a bit over an inch deeper.

Hey, I put "wasted space" in quotation marks. I wasn't complaining, I was trying to convey our first impressions of the new (and quite different) set up. We immediately were happy not to be stepping on our dogs (there are 2 and they're about 55 lbs each = not huge, but not small). We also love the fact that when things are stowed for travel, they are put away, mostly out of sight. No ladder on the floor, no more totes full of food, no bag for the produce (this fridge has a produce drawer and doesn't freeze the lettuce). It's great... or it will be once I get my dragonfly lace curtains put up in the dinette windows...

Thanks for your reply! We saw the 21' at the Pine Knot Rally in Grapeland, Tx, a few days ago and really liked it. Thinking about pulling the trigger and placing the order.

We're just down the road from you!

Hi Jim and Gillian--

Congratulations on acquiring your Escape 21!

We live just north of Comox, and picked up our 21 in September 2014. We've had three stellar trips so far, and are planning for another big one in the spring.

All the best with you new trailer!

I'm happy to hear there is another savvy RVer in the area. Congratulations, Jim on your new Escape. This is our second trailer, but our first fibreglass unit. We are so glad to have discovered the Escape and absolutely love it, the quality and great support from ETI. The forum is another great aspect of Escape trailering. Maybe we will bump into each other on the Coquihalla, Canyon or Island one of these days. We are always on the lookout for other Escapes.

Busy time....just trying to get all our ducks in a row so we can take off in late November heading towards California and Arizona for the maiden voyage. We also have two dogs (Springer Spaniels) which we will be taking along for the trip. Still a few things to get prior to departure like chains (just in case...) and travel insurance, etc.
It's exciting....looking forward to meeting some of you along the way. Cheers. Jim

One of the Irish Setters in my past was called Red Dog! Another was named Kukui (a red nut native to Hawaii.)
