New Arizonan Looking at Either a 19' or 17'

Hi All!

So great to be here on the forum with all of you lucky people! My wife and I are looking to get into either a 17' or a 19'. Fortunately we had the opportunity to check out a 19' from a local owner and we thought it was great! We're wondering what the 17' looks like and was hoping there was someone in AZ (or SoCal, or southern UT or NM) that would have one we could look at some time.

We like boondocking off of forest service roads with occasional NFS campgrounds. Because of a significant injury, we sold our truck camper a few years back. Now I'm all healed up and we are looking forward to getting back into camping! We have an '08 Highlander with tow package (5000#) and am open to any advice that is available.

Thanks everyone!

Cheers!

Welcome Jacster,
Contact the factory tomorrow and they can give you the contact info for a 17 Escape near you.

I am still looking (and trying to get The Boss ((wife)) on board) at 17a and 19 trailers. From a strictly ease of towing and fitting it places aspect, the 17 is the best bet. But if you need room or more sleeping space, or a bathroom, this would affect your choice.
Check out the "its friday" thread. Lots of pics, far more than you will see on Escapes website. Ive spent far too much time looking through the thread

Actually I think a tandem axle tows better than the single, seems to tow straighter when properly set up plus there is that safety margin with 4 wheels.

Welcome, Jacster,
We have a 17A that we love. We also extensive camp in NFS campgrounds and forests. The 17 is a perfect way to get into those sometimes tiny spots where the best fishing can be found.
Here's some background on our choices.
