New owners of a 21' Escape

Bonnie and I picked up our (new to us) 2014 21' Escape from RickM in the Seattle area, day before yesterday.

We had ordered a 17' Casita a couple of weeks earlier, but when we saw Rick's 21' for sale, it being exactly what we really wanted, (as at 6' tall, I was concerned about being a little claustrophobic in the Casita). So we were able to cancel the Casita order and buy the 21. I was a little concerned that the Toyota would pull the 21. But Rick gave me assurance that it would tow well.

We live in Spokane and towed the 21 across the mountains with our 2013 Toyota Highlander. I was a bit apprehensive as I had never towed anything this large, but was relieved that it was much easier than I had imagined. I could tell there was something being towed, but the Toyota felt well matched to the 21 and did not falter. I got 14.5 mpg driving between 60 and 65 mph.

We are already signed up for the 2015 Escape Trailer Customer Appreciation Rally at the end of May and look forward to meeting some of you then. We are both anticipating retiring soon and think this Escape will be the perfect TT to start that adventure in.

Congratulations, David and Bonnie on that 21'! Sounds as if it came up right when you needed. Glad to hear no problems in the mountains.

Thanks Cathy, yes it was "as if it came up right when you needed"-- "a case of the Universe taking care of the details"!

David and Bonnie, what is your TV? I am thinking it's a Toyota Sienna, but can't tell for sure from the wonderful photo! I have a 2006 Toyota Sienna, and plan to use it whenever I do finally get a FGTT...
Looks like a great TT! Wish one would become available down here. . .

Congratulations Dave and Bonnie, that rig looks great. Please post more pics when you get a chance. I can't wait to pick up my new 21 but that won't be until at least December. Good thing I've got my Casita to tied me over until then.

You have anticipation building. But (I know about this one), owning any all molded towable is better than not having any all molded towable.
