My "go to" bucket list includes the Smokies/Blue Ridge mtn areas, Charleston, Savannah, Brunswick and St. Augustine. Of course, staying in those cities will probably be too costly but I don't mind being out of town a ways. Here's my food suggestions - Hymie's in Charleston and Barbara Jeans at St Simons Island (BJ's she crab soup and crab cakes - so good that I ate there 3 nights in a row - the only time that I had ever wished my training class at FLETC was longer)...

If you like seafood, camp in Acadia NP area and you can have lobster dinners delivered to your campsite...heaven.

I can go along with St Simons and Barbara Jeans. My wife has a cousin who was an instructor at Brunswick. I think he's retired now. Last time we got together was at Barbara Jeans. I've been going to St. Simon's for about 30 years and it's one of my favorite places. We're headed to Edisto in November and then Buck Hall north of Charleston in March. I also love Folly Beach but I don't know if you can camp there. Down to Apalachicola next week so see food here I come.

TNLynn, as a retired LEO I can tell you that you have made the right decision. Bought my Escape 19 in 2013, retired in 2015 and have never regretted it. We have had so much fun with our Escape because of it's comfort, ease of towing, and the number of people it causes to stop by our camp spot it couldn't be better. If it was any better it would probably be illegal. Enjoy, Congratulations, and Safe Travels. You are about to find out that there is life after government service
