Washingtonian Newbie...

Newbie Intro:

I spent my adult life camping in a 1970s-era canvas Coleman tent; it grew heavier and heavier as the years went by until it seemed to weigh maybe 900 pounds. In 2004 I made the plunge and bought a small tent-trailer. Within a year, it was apparent that this would not do for the long haul. Just by luck I stumbled upon the Escape online and knew immediately that this was IT. And what a bonus to find they were made less than a one-hour drive from my home!

I have been lurking on this forum for several months but only joined after I reserved a May production date for a 15A. I am good with this long lead-time, as it will take me that long to figure everything out. This forum is an amazing resource for inspiration and for making decisions. I am a camper, not an RVer, so am hoping the 15A is the right choice and will be my first and last real trailer.

Hi Karen, and welcome to the fold. Congrats on your purchase, you will be very happy with your upgrade to a 'real; trailer.

Other than a tent trailer when the kids were young, and a 24' stick trailer that was basically a cabin at some rec property we have, this is my first hard walled trailer that I have towed around.

My background is many hundreds of nights camping in the backcountry, and this trailer is totally luxury to me. I have WAY more storage space, even without the storage box too, than we really need. I felt a little bit guilty the first time we cooked inside, though that is still a rare thing to do.

Thank you, Jim...I am really looking forward to it and have already bought a lot of stuff to outfit it and it's still six months out. One would think I could just transfer things from the pop-up to the new trailer. Wrong (again). New trailer, new stuff, right?

Welcome. I came from the tent camping world, and have found my 17B a huge improvement. Just finished a 138 day trip, including a bit of time in WA.

Hi Karen, my wife and I took delivery of our 15-A in August. You will love it. Read the posts to figure out exactly what options you want, and there are many, so you can make the changes before it goes into production. I will guarantee you that there will be changes you want made even after it goes onto the line! Tammy and Reace are very good in making sure you get exactly what you want. Send me a PM if you need any advice as to what you should get.
Regards Scott

Thank you, Scott. This is hard to believe but I think I've read (during my lurking days) almost every post made on this forum since its inception and have made several decisions based on these posts (including yours). I most enjoy interior pictures that show gadgets and modifications that make the trailer more comfortable and functional. If you posted pictures of yours, I missed them somehow!
