Alberta Escape owners

I am wondering what you fellow Albertan's did about getting the trailer registered and picking up your trailer in BC. From what I understand on Alberta's website is the trailer has to physically be in Alberta in order to get plates issued. Does that mean I have to tow the trailer unregistered into Alberta? Do I hit the first Alberta town with a registry and get plates or just do it at home. Has anyone gotten plates beforehand?

Thanks for any help.

Escape will send you documentation that allows you to register the trailer at any Alberta registries. There is no need for the trailer to be physically present. For us it was a simple matter to register and insure the trailer before our trip to Chilliwack to pick it up. The Alberta registration is perpetual and does not ever need to be renewed as long as you own the trailer.

Same for us. Make sure you sign your bill of sale, and that the registry copies ALL of it. Our signatures were on the back side of the page & they missed that side first time. I just had to take the paperwork back in for them to copy that side too.

Thanks everyone. My partner and I are still in the planning stages, but in a couple of years I hope to have a 5.0TA.
