Colorado is no big deal. ETI will send you a pile of paperwork a few weeks before pickup. Take it into the DMV with a printout showing the current exchange rate and write them a very large check (for taxes). They'll give you a temp tag. When you return, you get to go back to have the VIN inspected, then write them another large check (for the plates).

Bravo Steve & Debbie!
It is possible to work proactively with the CA DMV and achieve positive outcomes.
Do enjoy your new 21'. If you have even half as much fun as we do it will be stupendous.
As an FYI and not to far off thread, we just returned from the great King City CA Fiberglass RV rally today.
We had a great time as did the 38 other fiberglass folks. Dutch Oven plus Tricks & Tips workshops, Too much good food and great fellowship. If you are interested, send me a personal email and I'll send you the rally contact info for 2017.
Best Regards

Mt Shasta success

Steve and Debbie, we're really happy you had a good experience in the Eureka DMV ! We had a similar time in Mt Shasta . In and out in about 30-40 minutes, with our registration and trailer license plate . If anyone decides to try Mt Shasta, don't be discouraged by the lack of parking by the office ( it's in the inside corner of a shopping center ) , because you can park across the lot, by the hardware store . They were very friendly, and made it an enjoyable experience .

Excellent Dennis! For future California returnees, it is good to have at least 2 options for licensing when homeward bound. Mt. Shasta on Hwy. 5 and for the coastal route, Eureka on 101. Both offer an easy morning and peace of mind!
