Re: dog gone

Congrats Glen. Hopefully you & your better half will now have the time & opportunity to put some real miles on your trailer. Do I hear Nova Scotia calling? Or maybe it was the chorus of numerous states in the lower 48 that are located outside the Pacific Northwest? Happy adventures in retirement & on the road...

Congratulations Glen! Enjoy your new path.

We're awaiting details of the early retirement package my company is planning to offer.

Re: dog gone

Congratulations Glen.

It's not "How much do I need to retire?", it's "How little do I need?". I pulled the plug almost three years ago, and although I miss some aspects of working, I don't miss them enough to ever want to go back...

Re: dog gone

Te trouble with retirering is you loose so much.

I lost all my weekends, statatory holidays, and my need for an alarm.

But I did gain more time with my wife.

I suppose I broke even after all.

Congratulations. although this topic is making me do some unpleasant math in my head ( and yes it hurts ) to figure out that the magical day is a long way away.

Re: dog gone

Math makes my head hurt too.

For insurance, I have this house. Could sell, buy a condo and pocket half. Still, I wake up in the middle of the night with "what if this happens" scenarios.

At the moment, I'm just trying to get all my dental done and get new glasses. I've got some vacation booked so only 12 shifts before July 27 departure.

I get the newspaper delivered for half price for one year upon retirement. BONUS!!
