Moisture buildup is the biggest issue. Being cold is not. We kept the heater at 67F and no special bedding was required. I don't want to start the "running the furnace while underway" debate again, but when it's down into the teens you have to or your water lines will likely freeze, so we set the temp at 60F while travelling and never had a problem.
Skyfree: Would you be so nice as to share the ski resort where that pic was taken?!

Why keep your furnace at 60 while empty, 40 will keep things from freezing sitting still or under tow.

After seeing the 5.0 today, our first Escape seen in person, we're back leaning toward the stock dinette with Springfield pedestal and ETI slider Vs the u shaped dinette. The 30X34 table with the u shaped dinette may be small for family dinner. As you mentioned, Barbara, the full table size may be nice for dog beds as well. The single pedestal will consolidate floor space too.

Ruthe, I love that y'all did this. You make a good point about just taking off and making it work!

White Pass, WA on about December 28th of this year. FREE RV parking there but no plugins so it's like a symphony of generators.

Yes, but 40 is like a damp cold cave when you stop for a lunch break. 60 keeps things somewhat warmer and able to evaporate some of the water we tracked-in as snow and probably cost us $1 or $2 extra in propane. We vent the warm air out the top hopefully along with a lot of water vapor!

So you have the heat on and the vent open while towing? That can cause problems with flame out on the refer. ETI recommends the trailer being closed up tight while under way...

Never had that problem, but I'll watch out for it. Thanks!
