Finance Problems

I posted this question on another thread by mistake. I'm new to the forum and in the process of buying a 2016 (March) Escape 19 in Oregon. The problem is our banks underwriter is having trouble entering the trailers vin # into the NEDA system. Has anyone else had any troubles like this? Any suggestions?
Thank you.
Dave

Mid 2016 was when they came out with valid VINS, yours may be before that. Here's the thread on it if you're interested.

Wow - all exports temporarily suspended

NEDA... do you mean NADA? IF so, please know that NADA has historically undervalued all-molded-towables. That's due in part to the fact so few are built in comparison to the stick and staple variety. AND most of the trailers are re-sold privately, rather than through any kind of dealer network. There's no substantial data for NADA to use.

My 2015 VIN is recognized as an Escape 5.0TA, but the website “suggests” that one digit is incorrect. I would show the finance person the responses from this thread, and have home/her call ETI. I’m sure Tammy or one of the girls can explain the fiasco that happened a year or two ago when the “VIN problem” stopped all imports of Escape trailers into the USA, and I’m sure they can verify the assigned VIN of the trailer you are purchasing.

The VIN may not be registered and retrievable by NADA. That's not critical with the right lender. We had to change lenders because our first one refused to underwrite the loan without being able to look up the VIN. We thought we got that problem solved, only to find they refused to loan because the trailer was "imported". We switched lenders to one that specialized in RV loans and had no issues after that.

Sorry. Don’t know if this is an autocorrect issue or not or maybe just a large thumb on a smartphone keyboard but my previous post should read him/her, not home/her.

And the website to which I referred is:

The seller and I have contacted Escape. Hopefully they can correct the problem. Thanks everyone for your responses.

I put our VIN in just for fun and it comes back as an Escape ball type pull trailer. Also says 20 feet and curiously only 1 axle.

As Donna says, NADA is known to be rather useless for these trailers. People can sell for what they paid or near.

It is not uncommon for lenders to refuse to lend for a trailer from Canada. This trailer, however, has already been imported and titled here so I would not think that that is the same situation. But maybe it is to them.

You might re-check the VIN yourself and check what they are using.
