I called them today and they want $800 to cover a 2017 21 foot trailer. They said that anyone that has had insurance with them would have been grandfathered in and would pay less. They also said that you can only get replacement insurance for the first 10years. Has any one else been given a quote?

To drive our 2018 on the road from April to October, the province of BC via ICBC charges us $90 for the plates and 2,000,000 liability.

To insure the trailer for loss and damage for the whole year, we went to another broker and paid $268. This also covers a bunch of stuff like bikes, generator, lock repair and frozen foods etc.
It is said to have replacement cost and this can be done for the first 10 years.
In the upper right corner you can see it is provided by International Insurance Company of Hannover SE.

It is an 8 page doc that makes for a good read.

When we insured our new 21 in August of last year, we got the basic ICBC trailer insurance ($150) and additional coverage from Echelon for $308, including new trailer replacement in the event of a total loss.

The numbers do seem to be a bit all over the place. Mind you, everyone's declared values, deductible amounts and liability amount are likely different.

For my 2014 19' with a declared value of $24,000 I pay;

$31 basic charge
$31 for $3,000,000 third party liability
$109 with $300 deductible collision
$95 with $300 deductible comprehensive ($200 deductible for glass damage)

Totals $296 plus $26 license fee.
