Yes, I'm sure. I was "approved" by USAA as well. When I tried to finalize and fund the loan was when I found out their system doesn't have the ability to process a loan from an international dealer. It only allows for US dealers.
There is quite a bit of misinformation given to the borrower depending on who you talk to. Many of them don't know that their system won't process an international rv loan.
Also, there's a bit of a problem with the scenario you mentioned even if they did fund it. Taking a check to ETI when you pick up might work, but remember that the payment is due when the trailer is completed -- and that may be weeks before you pick it up, as in our case.
