Andersen Hitch For Sale

This is an early Andersen hitch....the second one ever installed by ETI. The only difference compared to the newer ones is the retaining collar which may be installed to replace the yoke if someone wants to tow without the sway control system. The newer hitches have a snap ring instead. The purpose of either is to keep the tapered hitch post from popping out of its aluminum housing. The hitch has 19,000 miles on it. It has a little wear, but It has lots of miles left in it. Price is $200 plus shipping. I'll drive 50 miles from Yellow Springs Ohio (near Dayton) to meet someone with it. We'll also be driving out to CO in early November if that's convenient for anyone. Happy to answer any questions I can and/or send additional photos.

Thanks
Parker

Not trying to hijack the thread, but what are the dimensions of the 21 frame? I currently have an Anderson on our Casita, and love it. I like not dealing with the heavy bars and nasty grease. I'm am thinking about just keeping it, but I need it to fit !

Our Escape is older and has a 3" frame. The newer ones are 4" (I'm 99.9% sure this is correct).

You obviously haven't heard....once an Andersen hitch has been used on a Casita, it can't be used on an Escape. You have to buy one that has previously been used on an Escape.

It will with extensions added to the chains. Unfortunately I dropped it off at Goodwill a few months ago after no responses to my posting.

I'm sure it's gone by now. Hopefully it ended up on a camper somewhere and not in the scrapyard.

A friend put an Andersen on his Casita following info he got on a Casita forum. It worked really well for him. All he had to do was lengthen the chains using splice links available where chain is sold.

Thanks again ,I pull my Casita with my 2006 Toyota Prerunner, and every since i put the bike rack on and started carrying a couple mountain bikes on the bike rack and about 10 gallons of water .I started getting a little sway.I just recently found out that I was not useing my Friction sway control properly.I was tightening the on and off arm instead of adjusting the bolt at bottom, then tightening the on and off knob.I will seee how she acts the next time I take the Casita out. If not im going to have to get a WDH.

FWIW, Andersen has made several improvements since the original models, I too had an early model with the yoke and the brackets like these were universal. I stopped at their factory in 2014 and got the smaller 4.5" brackets which made a nicer install. Now they have made another version where the universal brackets are elevated above the frame to prevent dragging. I'm thinking of ordering another one and this is the info I received from Andersen.

Thanks for the info.I live about a hour from the Casita factory, and they sell the Anderson at the factory and it was designed specifically for the Casita. But its hard to drop 500 bucks,so hopefully i can find a good used one.

The best I found was $475 on Amazon with 6 months -0- interest. But you can deal with Jason att he factory and you will get the right bracket for your unit, guaranteed.$500 is their price.
