Canadian source for Bal-X chocks

Is anyone aware of an economical Canadian source for the Bal-X chocks (28012)? I have been checking online for them and US retailers have a pair for as low as about $55. However, when you work in shipping to Alberta, it typically adds another $40 to $60 to the price (before customs broker fees). Would be great if I could find a good price locally.

Dave

Dave, check with some of the local RV dealerships, I know Woody's RV here carries them. I think I bought mine through eBay, and with shipping to my door was still cheaper than local.

Dave: Don't know if you got the chocks yet but when we order from the US, we use Ship Happens. Shipping to Canada is usually more expensive than the item itself plus it usually takes too long! We use the one in Bellingham.

Ship Happens - Home - Your US Shipping address service for home and business

They charge $5 a parcel and if you are heading to Osoyoos, they have a branch in Oroville, Washington, practically yelling distance from Osoyoos. You could pop over the border to pick it up! Just an idea ...

or, you can camp down here in the lower 48 and pick them up. I'm attending a rally in Nebraska next week and i'm taking a pair of B@l trailer levelers, you use these you do not need the x chocks, I'm taking to sell at the rally. I use the old fashion plastic levelers and plastic chocks.

So far I have found that my 19' is quite stable using conventional plastic chocks, and the Bal X chocks were not needed. If that does change, I will probably pick up a pair on a future trip into the US.

Dave, you will be quit pleasantly surprised how much more stable the trailer is while using them. Granted, it is not terrible when using wedge type chocks, but with the X-chocks the difference is quite noticeable. A few folk over the last few years at the Escape rally who came and jumped around in my trailer were sold. Chalk up one more good reason for tandem axles.

That is a pretty good price. Will have to try to get down there to pick them up.
