Cover for 17B

Hello from Vancouver Island. I'm looking for a used weather-cover for my 17B. I have looked in my local RV place and they do have covers for sale at a cheaper price than the Escape factory, but they are way too big for my 17B. I know Reece has them at around $600 and then add the tax, but that's a bit pricey for me. Locally, the "too big ones" are around $400 plus tax. Anyone selling?
The dark and wet days are upon us!!

Gabe

Nope, don't have one for sale... but consider getting a horse trailer cover... know the dimensions you need! You'll find them a lot cheaper. You know how it goes, anything labeled "RV" automatically costs more.

Re: Cover for 17B

Hi Donna: Thanks for the reply and the info. Do you know if those horse trailer covers are breathable like the rv ones. I know that I'm not supposed to use a tarp as it traps the moisture inside the trailer and then there is the danger of mold begining.

Re: Cover for 17B

Horse trailer covers are probably no different than any other cover, different fabrics, different sizes, different prices, different whatever. This is a question you'll need to discover when you find the size/price that interests you.

Best of luck!

This was one place mentioned over on Bolerama: http://www.beverlybay.com/horse-trailer-covers.html

Re: Cover for 17B

I just put on the Cover Giant Casita model I used for my Scamp.
It almost fits...the TV antenna keeps it from coming all the way down in the back curbside. It does covers everything that might leak & will keep the dust from building up on the gel coat.

Re: Cover for 17B

we got a large vehicle cover from Princess Auto when we were re-doing the paint on the Boler--used it last year on the Escape---and it doesn't cover ALL of it--but comes down part way on the body and if I remember correctly covered most of the front and most of the back...
We have to wash the trailer before we use it this year---just got it back from the nest today and it is dirty after the sit out there and the ride home...
BTW--the cover I think was for a large jeep it said and cost around $35.....it is the breathable stuff..used some ropes after we made the grommet holes and tied it around the bumper and hitch and stayed in place really well...
We made it so we could still go in and out of the door although a tight fit!!!

Re: Cover for 17B

Hi: gabe...I think the best cover would be a couple of palm trees in Palm Desert Cal.!!! Sans coconuts of course

Have you checked craigslist? I noticed several on the seattle craigslist. Not necessarily the exact size, but seems like you could modify if it was larger.
