Ear plugs

One last question before I call it a night. Which ear plugs are most effective at blocking out a snoring spouse?

The wife says a pillow might do the job quite well.

Wax ear plugs with the cotton exterior are the best I have tried. After kneading them a bit they mold to the shape of your ear and really block out sound.

I second that. These are inexpensive. They a rolled between the fingers before insertion and expand to take the shape of the ear. They can be used for several nights before losing their ability to rebound after being rolled, and work quite well. When I use them, I am hardly aware that they are in my ears.

Great thread; about five years ago my wife had me see my doctor for possible sleep apnea. Spent a night all wired up for diagnosis which turned out negative. Recently I've noticed my wife having some snoring that sounded like she is struggling for air. So looked into a test and there are tons of home testers out there. The thing that gave me some pause on that was almost all of them also sell the machines. which seems like a total conflict of interest. From what I've read since there are claims out there that many of these vendors will test you positive just because you ordered the home kit. She does have some classic symptoms though so am urging her to see her doctor. Good health needs good sleep!

A family member had success in using the night time nose strips to combat snoring bouts.
