Wanted Clam insect shelter

I am in the market for either the 12ft Green or preferrably the Venture. Clam are out of stock, Farm and Fleet have them but will not take orders for BC so I am stumped and cannot get one. I will be at the Osoyoos Rally with our new E21. You will be able to tell buy the way we go about parking and setting down when we arrive on the 23rd. Ho Ho

Check Cabelos in the US. They carry Clam unique to them, or at least that used to when I got mine.

I just packed our smaller Clam yesterday for use at Osoyoos, we had the larger one but returned it for the smaller set up which we preferred. You may certainly look at ours to help your choice making.

If it matters to you bear in mind that some of the models have rain flaps around the top that fold down to shed water over the side wind/rain panels and others do not. It looks like the Venture has them, but not the green one. This would help in inclement weather.

Could you buy one online and have it delivered to the address of someone in the US that then deliver it to you at the rally? I would bet that any number of people on here would be generous enough to do that.

Thanks I did not wish to be that cheeky but as you think it not out of order I will ask the question under general I guess, as the Venture is my No1 choice.

Looks like Farm and Fleet is a midwest company. None anywhere close to us folks here in Washington.

No worries. Being from the UK which is slightly smaller than the USA!!! we are used to ordering most stuff online as we have quick, easy and very low cost delivery on most things. So we are learning not only about RVing but also about how far everything is apart in North America and consequently what seems easy is not that straight forward for some things.

We bought our Clam Venture directly through VM Innovations in Lincoln, NE a few months ago. Everywhere we looked they were out of the size we wanted. Clam told us other sellers bought out their supply and it would take a few months for them to get stocked again.

Hi,

We found them on Amazon however, they wanted 158 CDN for delivery and the delivery timeframe would after we left to collect our trailer. However, I will call them tomorrow and see what they can do.

Ouch that is a lot for shipping. I hope you're able to get the one you want for a reasonable shipping fee.

Try ordering from walmart.ca. They can probably bring it to Courtenay for you.

clam is kind of bulky for shipping, when we bought ours from Amazon even though we got it for 2 days shipping (Prime) it still came pretty beat up.. luckily it was just the box and the inside was intact.. I've heard someone bought one from Amazon and came unusable two times and eventually gave up and got one through a local shop. so if you are having it shipped to a 3rd party you might have to be prepared to handle the worse case.

For anyone who has an Aldi store nearby, this week's flyer advertises a Clam look-alike (their Gardenline brand), 6-sided, 127"x139" pop up gazebo for $99.99 USD. Of course it's hard to know if the quality is as good, but some budget-minded folks might want to give it a try.

Try looking at a Gazelle screen room. They look just like a Clam and come in different sizes. Very comparable to a Clam Shelter.

When I was at the Bandon OR rally last summer I got to look at quite a few different shelters in person. I went with the 6x6 brown Clam as it has water/rain flaps that go over the removable wall covers. Someone at the rally said only the brown Clams have that flap. I used it several times when it was sprinkling at some outdoor dog events I was vending at and it worked great at keeping the water on the outside of the walls. I also used it last weekend at the Maryhill WA rally and it worked great at keeping the bugs out (when someone (not me) remembered to zip the door closed, though - LOL).

With the 6x6 I'm able to put it up and down by myself. And we fit 3 women in there at one point, all in chairs, along with a small plastic folding table that I use for crafting, a footrest and a small table from Cabela's. Cozy but still room for our feet and all that.

I purchased from Amazon.

Good luck getting one!
