The cover looks really low to fit common 20-pound tanks. Are they set down between the frame rails, or are they shorter (smaller) tanks, or am I just misjudging the height of the cover?

Like gbaglo, I'm just curious...

Hey Brian.

No problem, I thought the same thing when I got the unit. The tanks are set front to back under the cover. They are 20lb tanks just set low in the frame. If you send me your email addy I can send you some pics of how they are sitting.

So it is "set down between the frame rails" option - thanks for the info.
The original arrangement for the 17' (which is the original Escape model) had dual tanks in this position, which is possible because the battery is on the back (not on the tongue). This position doesn't work with the now-optional storage box, so it is no longer used, but it has advantages.

I'm not yet in market, so I don't need the photos, but they could be posted to this topic for anyone else who is interested.
