This seems to be the most popular trailer in the U.S. right now, too bad the owner is MIA...

The rig was listed for sale in April 2014. Do you REALLY think it is still available? The listing was probably not moved over to the SOLD section by the seller. Too bad it couldn't be like Craigslist that expires a listing after a certain length of time forcing it off the list and the lister to add it back on if it is for sale, keeping the FOR SALE list clean.

Perhaps it is - while Escape trailers are in high demand, individual circumstances can certainly cause a sale to take months. It seems reasonable to me to check.

I think the moderators do a good job of archiving listings. Forcing re-posting if the sale takes longer than some arbitrary period would mess up the list with new ads for the same old trailers... there's no easy fix here.

I would agree that it would be reasonable to archive listings for which the selling member fails to respond to queries within some set period (such as a week or two).

I am extremely reluctant to move a For Sale post to Archives without instruction from the OP.

In this instance there have been many inquiries but no response from the seller since 10/14. I would think it could be moved. If he still wants to sell it, he would be checking his listing more frequently. This just causes unnecessary work for the moderators and frustration for potential buyers.

Six months is the norm before moving without any op activity, so lets wait until years end.

That sounds like the best approach. Its a forum after all, not a classified ad you pay money to post. There are plenty of forums where something is posted for sell, and if it's sold on another forum, the OP doesn't bother to update it.

Could a moderator or another member of the site team email the OP to see if the OP's account is still valid? I seem to remember, when signing up to be a forum member, giving my email address. It's a drag when an interested party can't get a response from a poster.

I don't see an email address ( which doesn't mean there isn't one somewhere ).
