Hi
I'm in Blacksburg and would like to see your 5.0. Tow vehicle is F 150 4X4
Just tired of single axle towing and need a little more room.
Tnx.
Rich

Good catch, Jim.
The original single-axle fifth-wheel Escape is the "5.0"; the second-generation fifth-wheel has tandem axles and is called the "5.0TA". They were never produced at the same time; the 5.0TA replaced the 5.0 in 2014.

Many thanks. I guess I am looking for a 5.0TA. This forum has a great feel to it....much like the Casita forum. I owned a Casita for 12 years and never had a problem. Incidentally, I have been solar powering my rigs for 15 years and would gladly help anyone with that. Sure makes boondocking a lot more fun.
Tnx again!
Rich

Rich,
Have you seen an Escape trailer in person? I'm about 6 hours away but mine will only be here another2 weeks at most. Otherwise contact Escape and they can give names of owners elsewhere, closer or further away. You can then appreciate our units. Oh, and welcome...

Is that an open invitation, i am roughly an hour and a half away, maybe two hours. I am interested in the 17 but the discussion on tow vehicles makes me sometimes think you need an abrams A1 tank to tow a trailer.

CAUTION! Seeing a 21 Escape first will make you want that tank

Gary,
I have a 17A; my TT (tow tank) is a 2011 Honda Pilot.

The pilot is on my list. i was hoping the smaller ford escape with engine that can tow 3500 lbs would work. I would only have one vehicle and i like smaller, good gas mileage vehicles
I dont want to hijack this thread with my questions as the op is trying to sell their trailer

How does it pull?
What do you pull it with? is the single axle rougher pulling than a tandem? We are arranging a trip to Alaska and back from Nebraska. Have you have bearing problems?

I pulled it with a long bed Nissan Frontier. No problems. I replaced the bearings last spring when the driver's side gave out. That would be between 20K and 30000 miles. I thought they had been repacked the summer before, but I guess not. The tandem is slightly heaver than the classic and bounces a bit more. Pin weight is about the same when the fresh water tank is full.
It is on sale for now at $23,000.
Dick
