No political discussions here on the EscapeForum.

The exchange rate is not all bad news. Canadian exporters see the rates as favourable. More Canadians are vacationing within Canada which is great for Canadian tourism industry. Numbers of foreign tourists visiting Canada is also way up. Those hurt by the exchange are importers and Canadians holidaying outside the country in countries with a strong currency. Canadians travelling to countries with weak currencies still have favourable rates with those countries. I imagine USA businesses that rely heavily on Canadian tourist spending are also seeing a drop in income due to reduced numbers of Canadians visiting.

Meh. I've traded currency long enough to learn one indisputable fact: the rates change back over time. I've no doubt that within a few years the CAD will be back up on top and the USD down. OK with me. Volatility isn't automatically bad, and neither is a temporarily devalued CAD.

If you work for wages (I do) and you work on a budget (I do) when it was time to place an order for Ten Forward (5.0TA), I figured US dollars, that's how I work.

Imagine my surprise, when I needed to provide the last few bucks for MY build, and I got a refund.

Don't turn yourself into a pretzel worrying about the exchange rate. Just look at your budget and build the trailer for YOU.

Exactly. The favorable rates for US buyers are just an added bonus. The shoe could be - and will be - on the other foot someday.

I fear the day when somebody actually understands economics.
