Anode Plug Size
Anyone know what size is the socket to undo the anode plug on the hot water heater? Can't undo it and need to, but before I go out and buy a socket, I need to know what size it is.
Thanks much.

It is 1 1/16".
I use an extension and I fill the socket with loonies and toonies so I can apply pressure on the head of the anode.

I discovered that my 27mm socket, which I was using on fuel injectors, worked fine for anode replacement. And even works well without filling it with cartoon characters.

Do you use it for upgrades on your MacBook?

Thanks much. My brother-in-law had one that size and so we are all good. 27MM would work well too. Awkward little so and so!! I mean the anode plug and the socket set would do a number on your Macbook too!!

I was in the middle of replacing worn keys when you posted your question. Good thing I learned touch typing in grade 10.

Skills
The anode is one of those things that is somewhat awkward to thread back in that takes what they used to call "fine motor skills". Don't forget a few wraps of Teflon tape on the threads on the reinstall. Oh damn! I wrapped it the wrong way.

I need to replace a key on mine too. I need my ratchet and socket out to do it?

A very good friend of mine has an inch drive set that I can use any time. I borrow it once a year when I grease my Rolex. Them nuts on the back get tight.

I sure hope you are using correct torque setting when you put it back on. Lithium or moly?

Garage door track spray grease. I actually don't set the torque myself. I get a lady who owns a fiberglass camper to set them for me.

And you use a 1 1/16 socket to undo Mac Keys - you must have a huge keyboard!
