battery monitoring

We have our new Escape out to try this and that and we are wondering what the battery monitoring letters stand for. We do not have a brochure for the Systems Monitor. Which color should be which letter if well-charged? Are the letters associated with percentages? What do you use to tell the percentage?

If the water tank has the 1/3 red and others green, it is 1/3 full, right?

I only have to try, oh, six or seven times to get this thing parked! But the mirror for hitching is great, Baglo. Can look in the rear view mirror and back up exactly, by myself.
The hitching is so much easier than expected. Very happy with that.

Re: battery monitoring

I need to clarify the above post. I am referring to a mirror on a stand that is set up at the coupler. I see that mirror in my rear view mirror. The coupler can be seen at the bottom and then the hitch ball comes into view.

Re: battery monitoring

I've replaced my mirror creation with the commercially available telescoping rods. They have a magnet on the bottom, and a ball ( or on mine an LED ). You stick one on the hitch ball and one one the hitch. You keep them lined up as you reverse. When you get to the hitch, the rod on the hitch ball is knocked off the hitch and you know you are right on. You do still have to check that you have the hitch at the proper height for the ball.

Mine is called Easy-Hitch by Jacko Enterprises
Go here to download a PDF on the unit: http://www.shopdragonsden.com/product.php?id=33

A similar system can be found at etrailer.com for less money ( no LED ).

I'd probably still be using the mirror, except my daughter bought me the rods as a gift. They do take up less space. However, the way you shut off the LED to save battery is by unscrewing the red lenses slightly. So far, I've lost three batteries and they aren't cheap. Haven't bothered to replace the batteries.

The rods you described happen to be on sale at Princess Auto until April 29, 2012 for $14.99/pair. http://www.princessauto.com/pal/prod...ocating-Device I have a set that I bought the last time they were on sale and I think that they are great. I also tried a set with the big yellow balls on the end but they were too difficult to store.
