Charging dual 6V deep cycle batteries
As I am getting geared up for the season, I have just one question to you guys: How do I go best about charging my batteries (6V duals)? I have a Tender battery charger good for 12V that is doing the three cycle charging. Some time ago somebody on this forum recommended that one to me, and after more searching online I also thought that charger would do really well.
What do I do step by step, as I have never done this before? I would prefer keeping the batteries installed on Cafe Egg if possible. Just an additional piece of information: Cafe Egg has the cut off switch for the batteries.
And I have distilled water to top the liquid level off if necessary.

Hi: gharms...All that should be necessary is to plug in your trailer and turn on the cut off switch. The converter should do the charging...no chg!!! Reace said that having the trailer plugged into shore power 1 day per month should keep the batteries at full charge. We visited "Our Escape Hatch 2 weeks ago and I went in hit the kill switch and viola...LIGHTS!!! After being unplugged all winter there was still some power left in our original 12V. battery. There is another advantage to using the "plug in method" to charge the batteries. The built in charger is an intelligent charger (most are), this means that it charges at different phases during the process. The most important feature is the charger throttles back when the battery reaches full charge. This prevents overheating and over charging. It also means you can keep the power cord connected to shore power for an unlimited amount of time.

Nothing wrong with that, I leave mine plugged in 365/24. Solar is also an option, it is a little more gentle. Just be sure and check your fluid level and use distilled water.

Used to do that a couple of times a year on the Casita, have to do that. :

Only if your cord runs across your driveway and then you forget it is there and run over it with your snowblower...... not that I have ever done anything stupid like that and cost myself a lot in snowblower repairs......:

And I have never backtracked on my power cord while hedge trimming and cut it. Nope, never done it.

I suppose that you guys have never cut through the cord on your circular saws either? Not that I have ever done such a thing.
