Crackling hot water

What is the loud crackling sound that occurs when turning on the hot water in the bathroom? (Does not happen in the kitchen).

Cathy, maybe it is due to some slight expansion of the PEX connections from the hot water?

Only have had a noise when air is being purged from the lines at startup, nothing after that.

Figured everyone had it. Guess not. Could be from either of those, I guess. I always make sure the water is hot at night.

When you first hook up or turn on onboard system are you purging hot and cold lines at kitchen and bathroom to get the air out of the system? Hot takes a bit longer because the 6 gal water heater has to fill and push the air out the lines.

We had issues with clogged lines after picking up our new escape. Fortunately, my husband brings lots of tools. We spent our first night removing aerators on the faucets to clean out debris. The second night the hot water was not coming out the faucet in the bathroom even after removing the aerator. The shower was also leaking so we removed the faucet, fixed the showerhead and found a big hard piece of white debris stuck (wedged) in the handle of the hot water. When we got home from our trip we flushed the hot water tank. I used a bucket to catch the water so I could see what came out. Yuk!

I don't always run the water for a while at first. So we do have air but it seems that there is loud crackling that is more than air. No such noise at the kitchen. (This is our fifth year using Escapes and we have used them a lot more than most people, out this time since mid March.) We also had the leaking shower, too, but seems to be fixed now. Have not really cleaned out the hot water tank well but have one of those little hose attachments to do so next time. The bath plumbing or sink is obviously not the same as in the kitchen and we are getting very different noises!
