Did a quick compare to the popular and pricey Honda au2000i using the WEN store website and the Honda site. Couldn't find just a WEN manufactures page, so the specs were kind of limited, had to take the db from the amazon ad.
Differences,
WEN/Honda
51db / 53db @ 1/4 power
79.7 / 98.5cc
4 / 8.1 hrs run time @ 1/2 load
54.4 / 45.6 lbs
22-1/4 x 12 x 19-1/4 / 20.2" x 11.4" x 16.7"
$494/$899 regular price @ Home Depot (USD)

Manufacturer's web page: WEN 56200i 2000 Watt Inverter Generator, CARB Compliant
This doesn't add much information. It's not entirely clear, but the About Us page suggests to me that this company doesn't manufacture their products, but also doesn't just rebrand someone else's products. My guess is that they design to some extent, specify the rest of the requirements, and contract someone in Asia to build the products.
I think it's interesting that the WEN and Honda have the same output rating, and the WEN uses a smaller engine but is a bulkier and heavier package. I'm curious what brand of engine is used by WEN.
There are various obscure brands of this style of generator, usually much cheaper than the big-name brands. The better-known brands include Honda and Yamaha, but I noticed that there is also a Polaris which should be comparable.

I bought a Hyundai, which is pretty obscure compared to the big two. The thing that I liked about it, aside from the fact it was less than half the price of the big two, is that its' peak is 2300 watts and 2000 continuous as opposed to the 2000/1600 of the big two. Better for home use for me, heavier than the big two.
Time will tell if it's going to be the classic "you get what you pay for"

The Hyundai seems like a promising choice to me, for a few reasons: - Although perhaps obscure compared to Honda, Hyundai is a huge corporation with substantial experience in engines of all sizes, and electronics as well.
- Just as in cars, Hyundai may be prepared to sell a good product at a relatively low price to compensate for their relative lack of reputation.
- The sizing - like the Yamaha 2400 - is well-matched to a small RV air conditioner.

Oh, I've been tempted some times. Nothing more annoying than someone that leaves a generator of any color, especially a not particularly quiet one, running while they're off somewhere else

I heard if you pour a can of Coke Classic in the tank, the generator will run longer.

We don't get that one from Costco in Canada; instead, we get one branded "Duracell": Duracell Portable 2,000 Watt Inverter Generator. It may only be coincidence, but the engine displacement is identical (and the same as the WEN), so it could be that there is one readily available engine used in many generator brands.

I had someone turn mine off while we took the dog for a walk around the campground. I got the hint.

Don't you need to save some for cleaning the battery?

Stick a carrot or potato in the exhaust where it's a snug fit and up far enough where it can't be seen. It will kill the motor and they won't figure out why it won't start. An old hotrodders trick Doesn't do any long term harm, remove the plug and it will start again.

I was thinking of posting a "like", with the comment "Oh, the stories we could tell".
Then Dave breaks the silence with this:
"6th grade, mean health and P.E. Teacher, 54 DeSoto. Potato out of the garden. Safe now, Mr. Weepie is running laps in Hell.
Dave"
So, there was the obnoxious college roommate who couldn't understand why his Chevelle quit running. We got a meal in payment for "fixing" it.
