Fridge works

I have Dometic 2510 propane/AC 5 cu. ft. fridge.
Just to make sure everything was working, I switched it to propane and turned it on at 5pm yesterday. At the time, ambient temperature was 77F.


At 1pm today, my thermometer reads 74.9F ambient and 29.4F inside the fridge. There was nothing in the fridge and thermometer was on a door shelf.


It appears to be working.

What setting were you on Glenn on what scale. The one we had in the 19 was 5.0 cubic feet and worked well too. Better than the one in the 21. It does fine up to about 80F. After that it struggles. At 106F in Kansas a couple years ago it could only do about 60F. Good news was we had a big cooler. So no worries and cold beer that night.

It goes up to 7 and then MAX. I had it on 5.
The struggle I have is reminding my wife that we are not at home and that she has to press the door to close and latch. Gravity isn't enough.

You could set up your trailer on a sharp angle ... that would help the fridge door to swing shut by itself

I've been thinking of a chime that dings every 2 seconds when the door is open. It becomes an annoying hairpuller at about the point that you should have made your decision.

We have a plastic box inside with cheeses, butter, salami, etc. Open the door, reach in, grab the box and exit. No pondering allowed.

Very happy with our older 2510 model too after my tweaks. Most notable was the new regulator (which you had mentioned Glenn) and proper propane pressure. Also no voids around the sides and top (filled with insulation). This past weekend camping had temps in the low 90’s and fridge maintained 40F or below on setting 6. I’m very happy with a 50 deg differential and pretty sure I can get a 60 deg differential with fridge setting on 7 or max. With all my research on absorption fridges my goal was a 40 deg fridge when it is 100F outside and I think I’m there. Not that I want to be camping when it is 100F... it was just a benchmark for fridge performance. So nice to have a cold fridge in hot weather!!
