Dry weather makes it more bearable in both extremes, that's for sure. I remember being in NYC with temps just above freezing and a super high humidity level, chilled me to the bone, whereas a -20 day here, especially with no wind, and with our low humidity levels, makes this more bearable than with the NYC example.

That is the way I feel, a damp 30 degree day feels colder than a dry 20 degree day.

Portland sounds as if it is having worse weather than usual. Unfortunate for those picking up, and poor Charlie!

The 110 or less isn't bad, Cathy, but the 115+ makes one hide.

We scraped ice off the windshield early one morning leaving Westcliffe, Colorado, and arrived in Scottsdale, Arizona, that afternoon at 118 degrees. Left our shoe prints in the asphalt as we walked across the street. But as the locals told us, "It's a dry heat". We didn't care what they said! 118 degrees is hot!

As I stood in his back yard with my brother in law in the Alberquerque heat and he said, "it's dry heat" my reply was so is an oven.

It's equivalent to our week out of the year of below zero.

Very nice! How is it powered?

All you have to do is take your Escape up to Flagstaff. That should be good.

It is never that hot in New Mexico. You're in the mountains and can go higher. And it's a fantastic place to be.

I would say that that is unusual for Albuquerque. Albuquerque should be pretty good almost all of any summer compared to any southern area around in the adjacent states. I think you must have been in record heat?! You should have gone to Myron's. He's at 7000' and not far.

Who knows, maybe my brother in law had a bad thermometer! But I know when we were taking off in the plane to go home, I thought we were going to run out of runway before that plane fought its way off the ground in that thin hot air!

12V hard wired. I am having Escape drop wires in the closet for it.

Not to one-up, but.... My wife and I were flying out of Colorado Springs one unusually warm summer day. The pilot came on the cabin speakers and said something to the effect (I'm not lying!), "We're at full capacity and maximum weight today, and we don't have the cool dense air or head wind coming out of the west that usually help give us lift for takeoff. We've contacted the Boeing engineers, and they think we can still get off the ground, so we're going to go give it a try." Again, I kid you not! Everyone on the plane was looking around at each other saying, "Give it a try??" The pilot used every inch of the runway, and I swear we were seeing grass out the window before we finally lifted off, but we made it.

That's Density Altitude Dale. Always a factor where it's dry and hot. Right now the problem in Colorado Springs (I flew in last night) isn't the density altitude, but the WIND. Power lines down all over, trucks overturned all over, fences down, roofs ripped off, trees broken, you name it. Incredibly windy today with sustained winds around 55-60 mph, and gusts earlier today over 90.

It sure melted the snow fast.
