Locking Water Cap for 21 & 5.0TA

Does anyone know why the 21 and 5.0TA do not have the hatch with locking door like the other models? Found my cap opened and hanging the same day I discovered someone had siphoned gas from my Yukon. Got a locking gas cap for the TV but what if anything can be done for the gravity water fill? Can a JR Products Hatch be retrofitted? In my search thus far and talking with JR there does not seem to be just a locking cap.

Gee, Ross, I wouldn't have expected that in Los Osos. Especially someone who thinks water works as well as gas. (Maybe it was someone from ______? edit: ref. deleted).

I wouldn't count on that locking door. Not exactly strong.

.
Yes, I found out about a year ago during orientation. During previous visits, looking at demos etc. I commented that I'd be glad to having a locking door on the water because the filler on the Scamp had been very exposed. Never know what kids in a campground might do to entertain themselves During orientation I noticed that I didn't have a locking door. The reason given was that they're not available any more.

See http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f3...atch-2610.html

On the 3rd page Escape says no more locking hatches.

No, I'd say they haven't been on any units for the past year unless they're demo units sold later. At least the ones used now are a little more innocuous than the ones on Scamps that looked like little urinals.

That would have been my very own daughter! When she was little she thought it was fun to put dirt/dust, little rocks down the opening and watch them disappear. Sigh. Just a kid being a kid, but what a mess

Thanks for that; posted a month before I knew of this Forum. Looking at ETI's website made me think this was unique to only two models.
Am looking at JR Products website and awaiting a call to see if there is an OEM Multi-Purpose Hatch that will work.

water cap

During the very short time I had the R-Pod, the filler cap was a very poor fit so I used pvc fittings glued into the filler with fittings that gave me a screw in cap. I suppose I could have made up a cable to the cap with a small lock.

I just assumed;
and you know what happens when we assume .

Let's see, Feb 27: I was at home watching something called 'rain' precipitate out of the sky. It was a rather novel experience!
