Low cost water pump cigarette lighter or 110 v.
Hi all
We like boondocking but then occasionally have to refill the Escape 21’ fresh water tank - as we use the outdoor shower for washing dishes in warm water , or for bathing.
I have a Jiggler Hose but the 6 gallon jug we use for spigot water to refill from needs to be high up. Not always easy.
We do have the all plug inverter so a 110 v small water pump would be fine.
Or a cigarette outlet powered one
I do not carry a power drill with me, so a drill attached pump isn’t good.
Anything for about $20 or so that will survive being used 10 times a year?
Thanks.
John.

Lee Valley Tools has one that runs on two D cells.
Not sure how long a set of batteries would last. It says "not intended for potable water". Don't know what that means.

I pour it from the too heavy to hold up 6 gallon jug into empty 1 gallon water bottles and fill with those via a funnel. Work fine as long as you fill it every day.
Harbor Fright is the cheapest I've run into for a 12v pump, think it was $30 or $40.

Pump
I like my Zodi. They have a number of pump products. Dependable, reasonably priced, multiple use.

Have been wondering if something like this would work fairly easily: Fermtech Auto-Siphon Regular with 6 Feet of 5/16" Tubing and Clamp - a siphon used by brewers.
(Found on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Fermtech-Auto...brewing+siphon) Anybody have experience with some such?

I also use a 6 gallon container to fill. Took me a while to accept that filling it half way is a lot easier to use!

More $$ but it lasts...I have a 30 gal hdpe(think milk jugs) tank in the back of my truck. To it I plumbed, using pex and sharkbite fittings, an rv pump and a hose spigot. The pump is wired to an old deep cell battery and has an on off switch(although it can run on pressure too). It uses very little power and the battery lasts a long time. I even had a pump in my camper break and was able to jury rig in through the city water hook up to get pressure water for the weekend using the tank and pump in the truck. With this set up I can go get water and bring it back and pump it into the camper tank or use the pump in the truck to pressurize the camper...I use a shower tent set up next to my
outside shower on the driver's side. No more full grey tanks!

To all the pump experts - how would this top rated $20 one be?

Sumac, I like your suggestion so much I just ordered this... $16.50. Seems much more practical than me trying to pour 3 gallons into a funnel.

Reliance makes a 3 gallon water container. @16$ us. I use them rafting--much easier to stow/balance load/carry.
25 lbs is easier to lift/hold than 50. two of them should do ya.

Here’s a link.

The 3 gallon looks much better made than the 7 gallon ones I have from Reliance. These are really for setting on a table with spout when tent camping or used with pump to transfer water to fresh tank.

When we boondock we carry 2 ,6 gal, 1 ,3 gal and 1 ,5 gal to get a additional 20 gal . We drop the tailgate and have a 1/2,gal pitcher , keep filling that from the truck tailgate . Have a a funnel for the water inlet. Wish there was a easier way but glad we have the water . Pat

I have the large Reliance containers ( well one for the trailer ). It sits on the picnic table, which is our outdoor kitchen. Used to fill the dishpan for washing up, pots for boiling potatoes, etc.
I've never manually transferred water to the fresh water tank, and I've never run out.
