RMD8555 Warranty on Swapped Out Refrigerator????
I got my new refer on Monday. Has anyone gotten good information on how to handle warranty? I thought someone posted that Dometic was only going to honor the orignal warranty from your trailer pickup date. To get the two year warranty you are supposed to take it in at one year for maintenance. That would be next month on a one month old refer.

I would think the start date of the warranty would be install date of the unit, which you do put down on the new registration.

Maintaining the warranty from the original date is what is typically done with most similar warranties I have dealt with, Carl. In theory they did a fix within the original warranty timelines, which is what they were obligated to do. It sure would be nice to replace something near the end of warranty, then get another full warranty, and repeat.
But, I have been known to be wrong before. Hopefully you get the full warranty from this point on.

Thanks for asking this. I just received the paperwork to extend my previous warranty and need to call Dometic soon.
This is more of a 'class' replacement then individual warranty replacements. My refrigerator was not 'broken' from a warranty standpoint because no where in the warranty does it state a remedy for being 'weak'?
I 'hope' for a two year warranty but have no faith in Dometic after what we have been through with them.

I got back the new warranty registration from Dometic on the new fridge installed a month or so ago. They gave me 2 full years from the date I had the new one installed. I just kept my mouth shut and sent it with a purchase date that was the install date, seems they had no trouble with that.

warranty
Jim, do you have the extended or normal based on original date of delivery? I don't have ext. and dometic said mine will run out this Oct. I'm on my third circuit board, first two replaced by dometic although I had to pay some labor and pay the service call for the mobile tech.

Seems since we got an entirely new unit that we also got an entirely new warranty period of 2 years from date of install this year!! I had bought an extended on my old unit, but that is water over the dam.
