Looking at your install picture reminded me of something. My refer has a little plastic cup for the condensate that straddles the tube adjacent to the fan thermostat. Did you get one of those?
My replacement came with the tiny swimming pool too.

Hi: tractors1... Having some water in the pool will prevent warm air from being drawn into the refer via the drain tube. Any extraneous source of warm air being drawn into the refer cabinet, or for that matter cold being drawn out, should be eliminated for max cooling.
Our RML8555 is working good with the changes I've made to it... and I'm not quite ready to junk it just yet!!! Alf

If that theory were true I'm sure Dometic would have had a flapper/weeper fitting on the end of the hose; cost about 3 cents. The tiny bathtub is for when the fins defrost.

I give Dometic no 'credit' that they will do anything right, we are on our own.

There are a number of folks posting (other forums) that they are doing something to keep air flow in/out through that hose. Makes sense to me, it can't hurt. I've seen simply making the tube longer and put a trap in it on it's way to the reservoir. And leaving some water in the reservoir.

More ideas?
