Anybody have a good rear view (or link to) of the RML8555?

My question- Does the new RML8555 have 1 or 2 fans installed from the factory? I see 1 power wire on the input side, and 2 wires leaving the thermostat. The one I see goes straight to the lower fan, and the second wire proceeds up ... but I can't see up there, or down from the top.

Go back to post #112 where I posted pictures of the old RML8555 and new RMD8555 for your answers.

Thanks Jim. The 1st thing I did with the single door was to pull it out and try to modify it. The last thing I want to do with the double door is pull it out and try to modify it

I reinstalled the fan in my under trailer cool air pickup and a switch to manually turn on all 3 fans. Added a rear hold down for bumps and I'm going to go out and enjoy camping.

Yay!!! Persistence... and awareness. Wish ETI would send notices to all because not everyone who has one of these RML8555 units browses this forum. The current policy to replace could change; I've seen as much before with other large companies.

No; but as they've said they watch & listen on this forum. Have they stated they were going to? I did get an email about the solar panel bracket fix which is obviously a potential liability issue for them.

We have not been able to get our newly installed RMD8555 to run on DC. It works OK on propane and AC. The Dometic manual states that for DC operation there must be a signal present from the tow vehicle alternator (D+) to insure the battery is being charged. (This signal can also be used to shut off the propane when filling up at a petrol station. Maybe it's a European thing). Since it's a 3-way fridge we would like to have the DC option. We did not have this problem with the RML8555 installed by ETI. There is a wiring bus on the rear of the fridge with a D+ connector, but nothing is feeding to it. Do we have an installation problem or is there a trick to get it to work on 12v?

When you were attempting to use 12V power for the fridge was the 7 pin trailer connector plugged into the tow vehicle and the engine running ?

We tried it both standalone and vehicle connected and running. Tried button combinations and holding battery selector button for 3 seconds, etc. I checked the tow plug and it has the correct pin with 12v aux/charging voltage.

Aren't we having fun? My RMD replacement for the RML is being installed today and the installer just called to let me know it isn't working right...........at least they're checking before I pick it up!
