Only difference to mine, which I've yet to hear the fans run on, is it is backed up to the left to the little stop that sticks up.

Yes, Thank you, I have moved mine toward the burner, it gets hotter there but still not turn on. Mine is now stretched as far as the wires will permit it. I removed my plastic tub and ran the drain down the hole. I'll post a picture tomorrow.

I checked mine yesterday with my new laser infrared meter, it was reading 110 F on electric, set on #4, 38/8 readouts inside the unit. The closer to the "stack" the hotter that tube reads, up to 140 degrees. I sent an email to the Dometic rep asking what the on set point was supposed to be for the cooling fans. As you can see, I'm about 3" away from the stack and a lot closer than you are. This is as far as I can slide it due to the wires. I'll check again today to see if it comes on.

Okay, been on phone most of today, my switch has the letters "03E NGT" and I googled NGT and found the company in California with headquarters in Japan that sells to Dometic the thermostat for the fans control. I spoke to a very nice man in engineering who asked for the info printed on the thermostat. I went back and copied "03EN2007 B70C06C10T150" I called him back and he says this is a 150 degree F switch and no way it will operate a cooling fan. He asked me how old was the unit and I said "brand new" well the switch is an old one, made in 2010 Anyway he understands I need one to come on around 100 and off at 90 the standard for cooling fans. He is going to call Japan and then Dometic to find out how the wrong one is being used and get me the right one, really nice guy at NGT Manufacturing.
NGT Controls, Inc. Bimetallic Disc Thermostats. The saga continues, BTW, Mark the Dometic rep is out of town this week.

Hi: cpaharley2008... Thanks for your concern. I sure hope these double door fridges weren't designed by the same committee!!! Alf

I think most are 150 which is why the fans never come on. Dometic fails again!
Just makes more sense why to jump the switch and control it yourself.

I agree, but I expected at least something close to what we wanted, just not never operating. I'll reroute the switch to a more accessible location and use it only in the 90 plus days, still it would be nice to have the auto feature on a new unit be operable.

Jim, did you order one of the term control switches you mentioned a while back? Looks like it might do the job.

Yes I did, but I ordered the wrong one, I wanted NO or non open versus NC non closed. I got 10 of the NC meaning they are closed and will open at 40C, I had to reorder the NO meaning they are open and will close at 40C, thus activating the fans. Stupid me, I missed the letter reference, even paid for one day delivery @ $4.00....The new ones are being mailed from China, thus the call made to the switch company.

Jim I just went out and checked mine again 127F and the fan isn't running, strange as it was the other day at just over 100F. Now I'm wondering if there is something else in the control board that controls the fan other then the thermal switch. For now I also have a "temporary" switch to override the thermal one.

The thermostat comes off pretty easily, the two copper tongs are easily spread. You will need a magnifying glass to read the numbers, yours also maybe the wrong one.

Will check later Jim, let me know what transpires.
If we can purchase somewhere, I will just buy one probably easier then going through Dometic.

Mine was the second two door installed by ETI as original installation. It has 03EN2807 B7C 6D10 T150.
I used a jeweler's loupe.

We've had excellent temps in the fridge and freezer, so I've never listened for fans, but will in the future. No trips for a month or so.
