Sewer hoses that fit the provided tube?

Hey all,

I've been scouring the forums but I'm having a hard time finding direct links/detailed product information, so I thought I'd start a new post.

We just got a 2013 Escape 5.0 and we're trying to find a stinky slinky that will fit in the installed storage tube. The diameter is a touch larger than 4", but the length is 47" at best and I cannot find sewer hoses that will compress to that length!

If you could provide the brands of your sewer hoses that fit the tube, I'm all ears. Trying to explore the easiest avenue before I break down, buy a RhinoFlex, and try to figure out an alternative spot to store it.

I purchased the Rhino Flex. It and all the fittings fit inside the carrier tube just fine.

Hi Donna, do you have a link to the one you purchased? I can only find RhinoFlexes that compress to 56", which would be too long for the tube our 5.0 has.

I just bought a Rhinoflex 15' to replace our original sewer line.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01HPHR2M4/..._U2d8ybVDXHK8P

It fits in the new sewer tube on our 17 that spans underneath the bumper across the back of the trailer. All the accessories fit in there as well.

Is the installed tube original equipment? Seems short. How difficult would it be to install a new, longer tube? Or, you could cut down the Rhinoflex to fit.

Escape put a new tube on mine to accommodate new batteries; cost under a $100 installed. Looks pretty straight forward to do yourself.

My Valterra Dominator 15' fits my 2014 tube fine (compressed it's even short so I have to reach in). The fitting doesn't though.

Good question. The tube on my 2014 is 60".

It is original and yeah, it's quite short!

In my stubbornness to try and avoid installing a new tube, are you familiar at all with cutting a rhinoflex? Is is totally fine to cut, or does it compromise its structural integrity?

You can cut a RhinoFlex with no problem. The threaded piece that locks on to the elbow fitting will still thread on the end of the hose. It's cut anyway.

But, there's no need. A standard 15 foot RhinoFlex hose fits quite nicely in the provided storage tube, with room to spare. In fact, I expand the hose a bit before placing it in the storage tube, so that it doesn't slide back and make it harder to remove.

I had to trim the tabs on the end of the Rhino that connects to the trailer, but then I have a 5.0TA not a 5.0. If you want, I can pull it out and measure end to end.

Hi: TwoPlusLu... Yes the 5.0 Stinky Slinky tubes were short. The original white ones mounted above the bumper that is. Ours cracked and the cap fitting was to narrow to hold a campground fitting on the end of the slinky. I found all the pieces to make a new holder tube at TSC Stores. Alf

I would just swap out the tube for a longer one. On my 19 I mounted one underneath.

This is just weird. You have build 6 and I have build 10 and I don't have to trim anything to fit the Rhino and all the fittings inside the tube. Poor QC by Rhino or the tube manufacturer?

For what it's worth, our 2017 21' came with a 5' long storage tube, 4.5" I.D. We have the Rhino-Flex (brown tubing with orange ends, swivel lock on one end, swivel 90 degree elbow on the other, 4' 4" fully collapsed, 15' 6" fully extended. It fits in the storage tube great and leaves 8" of extra space for the sewer adaptor, baggy containing rubber gloves, etc., too. Don't know if that helps or not....

Are you saying that the 90 degree elbow fits in the 4.5" tube?

Is the storage tube on the 2017 5.0 TAs the same as the 2017 21s?

Yes! And the drain adaptor, too!

I see now that it fits with the drain adapter off. Thanks
