Thanks Dave, the pictures were a little confusing but now I see it was a piece of plywood in the truck bed versus inside a van.

True generators have there time and place, for us its about options that enhance ours and others camping experiences while enjoying the great outdoors in peace and quiet. I am not quite sure what this means "complete camping experience" but I think most of our camping trips are complete ?

New portable solar panel inlet

Installed a new portable solar panel inlet. Love working with electrical wire and components, so clean.

It Begins

One thing I dislike about working on the trailer, is finding Sh*** workman ship. Check every electrical crimp, splice, wire routing and bench supports.

Workmanship

The workmanship on our 2013 21 foot Escape has proven to be excellent. I’ve not had an electrical problem yet. Today I hooked up to an overflow camping area outlet and the Surge protector gave me an error code. I moved to a different receptacle and all was well. We’ve been out two weeks , the 21 has been flawless even my old style awning, set manually to drain last night sheltered 6 people in a straight down rain while we had a propane campfire. The 1.4 inch rain broke down several awnings in the campground because they were not set to drain. Gotta be smarter than the average bear. Happy camping. Tonight we are camped in Kentucky where I can truly say, Daniel Boone camped here. Last night at Davey Crockett’s Birthplace. So, three great frontiersmen are now kindred spirits. ( who did you think?)

Is that a high-amperage Powerpole connector? I have to say that I find that wiring things up to be surprisingly tiring. I have to give credit to electricians who do this for a living all day long. I've been revamping the 12V power in my trailer; you wouldn't think it would be that strenuous but at the end of the day I'm just exhausted. My hands are taking a beating as well. Dang!

Steve- when I first joined this forum in 2013 you were one of the celebrities () and remember well your old tagline: "No Generators!". To hear of your new found depravity is depressing

Halloween camping

I just took a short driving tour of the campground at Fort Boonesborough State Park. There aren’t enough generators, solar panels and z amp connectors to do this.

If the lower right picture shows your layout, I would put the inverter on the left, closest to the battery box.

Hi Mike, yes it is a SB50 50 Amp Anderson Powerpole Kit. If I had to do all the work inside the trailer it would be a lot tougher.

My inverter is 12 inches from the battery bank with 2/0 welding cable.
