30 degrees and Counting
Left Anza Borrego State Park today after a week in the California desert. 29 degrees when we left and 30 degrees when we arrived at Indian Waters in Indio California. Couple of days here then will start the trek back to our beloved Pacific Northwest. Oregon, Arizona and California have all been great. Can’t wait to do it again next year. Weather has been dry and warm and the Americans have been so friendly. Established some nice friendships down here. Safe travels all.

Sorry about that: translation 30 degrees Canadian is 86 degrees American. Hot in any unit of measurement.

I'm not surprized he used Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. When I'm driving in the US I always find myself converting Miles per hour (MPH) to Kilometers per hour (KPH). That's Canadian eh.

celcius, kg, Km/hr, etc. are not restricted to Canadians. There are only three countries in the world where they do not use metric system.

I have a terrible time thinking in °F and miles now. I set all my weather apps in the US to °C so I don't have to convert to what I know well. I do set my digital speedometer to mph so I don't have to be consistently converting my speed. Man, those miles are long, it seems like it takes forever to count them off compared to kilometres.

Straight out of Google:
Quote:
"At this time, only three countries—Burma, Liberia, and the US—have not adopted the International System of Units (SI, or metric system) as their official system of weights and measures."

Not us. Maybe it helps having 2 of your vehicles with mph speedos. Maybe not because a couple of times I've realized that I was glancing at the wrong set of numbers.
But as soon as we cross the border we set the GPS to miles and the house thermostat is always programmed in F.
