A wonderful place to visit !
Anyone even remotely connected to show jumping will know Spruce Meadows in Calgary . We are often surprised by how many Canadians haven't heard of Spruce Meadows . Spruce Meadow is absolutely beautiful , about 5 minutes from our home and although we do not have a connection to show jumping beyond being spectators - we do go there to walk from time to time . It is always open for walking and photos year round . It is truly park like , lovely and peaceful when not hosting an event . Worthy of a visit if in the area .

"When not hosting an event". That's right! This is how our friends ended up with during the horse event this past September: the parking lot

Great photos, Gabi. And a great reminder that I should head out there for a visit. For me, it is across town, but that is only a 39 minute drive, and it is years since I have been there.

Spruce Meadows is on the list of places to go to eventually. I've wandered around the place, many years ago, when there wasn't any events going on and it's a very nice place. Lots of expensive horse flesh stashed away in those barns!

I just realized that Lisa was out there at a craft fair with a good friend yesterday. She stayed in the south end of the city with her yesterday, and today they are going hard doing Christmas baking to get it out of the way.

The Christmas Market - seems to get bigger every year and is over three weekends . We go a least twice ( seniors/kids free ) . They also do an amazing Christmas lights display with a drive through route . If you haven't been there for years it is definitely worthy of a nice walk through . The Christmas Market is pretty much concentrated on the west side , there is so much more ...... It is definitely baking season ...Lots to do here too .
