Advice, please: Alaska and BC

Escape just moved our pickup date from Aug. 13 to May 12! Now we are really under the gun to start planning. We had wanted to go from picking up the 21 to a long trip through BC, and up to Alaska. Figured we'd not go all the way from Colorado up there again. So, too early in the season? We could stay around BC for awhile, at least on the coast. I'm going to get Milepost and start looking. I know there are some out there who'd be glad to give some newbies some advice. We have lots of time, being retired, and not having other commitments. So how about it? Of course, have to check on license plates, and hear that's not easily done.

Mary, if you wanted, your trailer can sit at Escape for a while until you pick it up, you don't have to get it right when it is done. Warranty starts upon pick up too.

You could pick up just in time to attend the Escape Rally in Osoyoos, May 27, 2016. Lots of people arrive early and leave late.
Meantime you can visit this site, and request hard copy material.

Yes, we knew about that. But I can't see letting it set there when we will be anxious to get going!

We spent early June & July going to Alaska this year, although the first week was spent just getting across the US. A fair amount of rain, but the temperatures were not bad at all. If you want to see the bears chase salmon at Hyder, you will probably be too early for that - we were there on July 24 & while we saw some, it was considered a bit early.

Along with the Milepost, get a copy of Mike & Terri Church's "Traveler's Guide to Alaskan Camping: Alaska and Yukon Camping With RV or Tent (Traveler's Guide series)" and stop at the Visitor Centre in Dawson Creek & ask for the fuel & campground list. It is an up-to-date by the milepost list of locations.

And then again, we may go south to Oregon, and then north. Anyway, I'm sure we'll have a great time!

We left for Alaska after the Escape Rally at the end of May. Sunny and warm in Dawson Creek by June 5. Days are starting to be longer, sunset is already later.

I'd also want to pickup and go as soon as possible. Go for it.
