Alaska
Someone on this forum took a trip to Alaska and then caught a ferry home -seems like a nice trip. wonder where you would pick up the ferry and if they could accommodate my 5.0 and truck.

I would imagine that would be very expensive to take a ferry to/fro Alaska to Washington with your vehicle and trailer. On edit, at least $3800 and 4 days and 3 nights.

I think that there are several of us that have done that.
As suggested, look at their website and the routes and schedules. There's lot's of options.
As far as a recreational RV, no problem, the ferries are used by commercial shippers. Some times it's a bit of a sardine can but the crew are experts at loading them.

I'd do more research.
We took BC ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert. Left at 4pm in October. Arrived the next morning after listening to coat hangers bash against the steel walls of the cabin next door all night. Didn't see anything but dark.

You CANNOT stay or sleep in your trailer during the trip. For me that makes the ferry trip a no go.

You can get a cabin or sleep in the recliners. We've done it both ways. We'd rather have the cabin.
Yah, kind of annoying when you are travelling with your own accommodation but good safety reasons for not allowing folks in their RV's below deck.
Aside from flying in, where you definitely can't use your RV, it's the only way to get access to some areas. Pricey, yes, but definitely worth it to us.

Alaska Marine Highway is the website to look into.
In my line of work I have spoken with many who have taken the ferry between Bellingham and Haines and other points in between. The experiences related to me were overwhelmingly positive. I plan on taking the trip myself someday but not sure if I'd take my trailer.
I have taken the ferry between Kodiak and Seward/Homer and enjoyed it even though it was overnight both directions.

While the ferries let you see parts of Alaska that you can't drive to, many find the accommodations a bit cramped, as well as expensive. My parents did the drive in 1959, and 1968, and took the ferry (without a trailer, but with a cabin) in 1985. My father hated the ferry, and said no matter how old he was, the next trip would be driving...
For our last trip in 2015, we drove up the Alaskan Highway, and back to the US on the Cassier. We enjoyed both roads, and would recommend making the loop: 2015 Trip to Alaska.

I have done the trip from / to Bellingham, Washington State and Juneau, Alaska many times but never with my trailer. Recommend that those who are interested check out their web site:
www.ferryalaska.com click on "reservations" to see sailing times and costs. You won't have to commit until you are ready.
I'd add more info here but off to work for me right now. More later ...

We did the same, Jon in May leading up to the Osoyoos gathering.
We really enjoyed the cool spring weather with most Lakes still partially frozen, but made our turn-around at Whitehorse since the town water pipes were still frozen due to what the locals said was a particularly cold winter.
About half the campgrounds were open, and we enjoyed the Cassiar better than the Alaskan Highway. Early May meant no mosquitos, yay.

I did and went to Prince Rupert.
Yes, pricey with the trailer but the only way to see Juneau, Petersburg, Wrangell and Ketchikan etc. Wouldn't have missed Juneau. Enjoyed paddling up to the face of the Mendenhall glacier.
